ADAM ORTIZ, LMSW
Adam Ortiz (he, him) returned to continue his education after spending 20 years working with under-served communities in social service delivery settings. In this time, he also established a presence in local creative communities, with music, clothing production, illustration, fiction, and art group facilitation. As an LMSW, Adam now focuses his efforts in the mental health realm, bridging the space between therapeutic intervention and non-Western, spiritual perspectives. Adam is a lifelong martial artist of 35+ years, and brings his knowledge of several practices into healing spaces that include somatic processing, movement, and mysticism.
Adam has spent the last few years as the Wellness Coordinator of a private mental health agency, and co-founder of their Social Responsibility Committee, dedicated to creating supportive spaces for marginalized workers and outreaching to under-resourced communities. In honor of his ancestors, Adam seeks to embody the role of Bohique: a helping and healing spiritual figure of Taino culture.
Adam’s practice is based on working with clients to understand their consciousness and the possibility of spiritual awakening. He engages with them in their creative pursuits, helping develop their power of imagination, self-actualization, and connection to their higher Self.
